Privacy Policy

Last updated 3 October 2026

This policy explains what information The Steak Directory ("we", "us") handles when you visit thesteakdirectory.com, and the choices you have.

What we collect

No account, no sign-up. You can use the whole directory without giving us your name or email.
A preference stored in your browser. The site remembers the last country you browsed (key tsd-market in your browser's local storage) so it can suggest it next time. It never leaves your device and you can clear it in your browser settings.
Server logs. Our hosting provider may record standard request data (IP address, browser, pages requested, time) for security and to keep the site running.
Messages you send us. If you email us a correction or a listing request, we keep the message and your email address to reply and to update the listing.

Cookies, analytics and advertising

We do not currently use advertising or analytics cookies. If we add advertising, affiliate tracking or analytics in the future, we will update this page and, where the law requires it (for example for visitors in the EU, EEA and UK), ask for your consent first through a cookie banner. You will be able to change your choice at any time through the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.

Links to other sites

Listings link to businesses' own websites, social pages, booking sites and maps. Those sites have their own privacy policies; we are not responsible for how they handle your data.

Business information we publish

Listings contain business details (name, address, phone, website, opening hours) taken from public sources such as the business's own website, guides and directories. If you own a listed business and want a detail corrected or removed, email us.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, or to object to how it is used. Email hello@thesteakdirectory.com and we will respond within 30 days.

Children

The site is a general-audience directory and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their personal data.

Changes

We will post any changes on this page and update the date at the top.
